Responsibilities:
Provides counseling, guidance, education, assistance and case management to program participants.
Provides supervision and training of interns.
Performs treatment assessments and conducts bio-psycho social interviews.
Performs treatment planning.
Prepares and maintains progress notes for program residents.
Conducts individual and group therapy sessions.
Conducts education sessions, lectures and workshops.
Performs discharge planning activities and prepares discharge summary.
Provides patient follow up after discharge.
Performs a variety of administrative functions.
Attends and represents the organization at outside meetings.
Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
California certified SUD Counselor accredited by a certifying organization recognized by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
Experience working with persons suffering with substance use disorder and/or experience working with individuals following their release from incarceration.
Knowledge or experience of the 12-step recovery program.
Training and
Experience:
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and common personal computer functions such as email, printing/scanning documents, web browser.
Equivalent combination of training and experience to demonstrate the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
